In the pressCommentary on ECB Policy

In an opinion piece in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, AWI researchers Christian Conrad and Zeno Enders, together with Gernot Müller of Tübingen University, criticize the European Central Bank for relying on too optimistic inflation forecasts, given its own past inflation forecasts. A longer version of the text was also published on the website Ökonomenstimme. This research is related to the DFG Priority Program “Experience & Expectation: Historical Foundations of Economic Behaviour,” which focusses on expectations and experiences of economic decision makers (see here for more information).
