Research Interests
Johannes Gessner is Juniorprofessor of Economics, with a Focus on Environmental and Resource Economics at the Alfred-Weber-Institute for Economics at Heidelberg University.
Before joining Heidelberg, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Toulouse School of Economics (2025–2026). He received his PhD in Economics from the University of Mannheim in 2025.
Johannes is an applied microeconomist working at the intersection of environmental economics, behavioral economics and industrial organization.
