FAQheiCO

heiCO is the future central campus management system of Heidelberg University. All processes from application and enrolment to exam registration and the generation of final documents will be covered and administered there.

Currently (winter semester 23/24) not all degree programmes have been migrated to heiCO. The M.Sc. Economics is one of two pilot degree programmes that is already fully managed there. From the summer semester 2024, all AWI courses will be available in heiCO. The Bachelor's degree programme with all course data (grades, credists, etc.) will then follow in the course of the summer semester.

Where can I find instructions/manuals for heiCO?

The project team provides various instructions for applicants and students on their website. You can find them linked here.

Do I have to register for AWI courses in heiCO?

No, it is still not necessary to register for AWI courses. If places are allocated for seminars, details can be found in the event commentary.

How can I create a timetable?

If you have not registered for courses in heiCO, you can book courses by clicking on the star next to the title. Courses with a registration are displayed directly after clicking on the My courses tile on the start page. You will also find the bookmarked courses there, but you need to click on the My Bookmarked Courses tab.
In the calendar settings (see instructions above), you should also activate the option Show dates for my bookmarked groups so that your bookmarked courses are also displayed there. You can also integrate the calendar into other apps and programmes (via iCal, click on Publish).

I have registered for a lecture in heiCO, can I cancel my registration or choose another group?

Yes, lecture/tutorial registration in heiCO is not binding and can be cancelled at any time. You can also change your chosen tutorial groups at any time.

I have registered for a lecture in heiCO, do I also have to register for the exam?

Yes, registering for the lecture/exercise has no effect whatsoever. It is always mandatory to register for the exams within the respective deadlines. From the first date of the summer semester 2024, this will also be possible entirely via heiCO. The second date of the winter semester 2023/24 will still be registered via LSF (Bachelor) or heiCO (M.Sc. Economics).
