Short Description:
The lecture ‘Macroeconomics’ is a compulsory course of the Master’s program ‘Economics’ and the Diplomstudiengang ‘Volkswirtschaftslehre’. Written exams will be offered at the end of this semester and at the beginning of the summer semester 2012. This course will be taught in English.
Content:
The course features introductions to growth theory, real business cycle theory, and New Keynesian Economics. First, the models and their relevant solution techniques are discussed. The resulting model predictions are then compared to empirical observations.
