Doctoral Dissertation Award in Environmental and Resource Economics
Bettina Chlond, a former PhD student at the AWI, wins the 2026 Best Doctoral Dissertation Award of the European Association of Environmental and Resource Economists for her thesis titled “Essays on the Public Economics of Decarbonization: Low-income Households and Industry”.
Bettina wrote her thesis at the Research Center for Environmental Economics at Heidelberg University and is now a postdoctoral researcher at the ETH Zurich. She was awarded the prize at a special ceremony at the World Congress of Environmental and Resource Economists in Lisbon on July 1.
